The visuals are really, really fun – they’re not works of art by any means, but they keep to the ridiculous theme perfectly. Let’s face it, an homage to classic Hong Kong martial arts films, but with apes, is a rather insane concept, but Microgaming commit to it and go the extra mile, with some funky music and really cute homages in their symbols. But the best thing about the slot is, like always, its bonus feature. Unlike most, however, this one has an actual storyline involved which follows Kung-Fu Monkey needing to fight ninjas through several rounds, finally ending at the boss who kidnapped his baby. It’s such a simple, yet fresh concept which really breathes new life into the slot and makes playing the bonus (which otherwise consists of the classic “pick one out of several objects at random and hope you win” mechanic) an absolute treat!
