An Overview of the Rules and Features
Esqueleto Explosivo is a video slot with five reels, three rows, and 17 fixed pay lines, which pay from left to right. The reels are constructed out of the various skulls of Boner band members. The symbols sit atop skeleton-bodied mariachi musicians. Although skulls typically lack in variation, Thunderkick’s skulls include enough distinguishing features (moustaches, missing teeth, and accessories) that you won’t have to worry about an incomprehensible game board. The pink skull is the highest paying symbol and pays up to 250 coins when five fall into place. Each time you win, the skulls sing a mariachi tune then explode into a mist of confetti. Each time this happens, new heads roll into place. There is one skull-shaped wild who wears sunglasses at night. We can only assume that this cool cat is the one and only Enrico Mortis. Enrico substitutes for all other symbols. When rolled, Enrico’s “Greeto” will blow up all 8 surrounding symbols for a new chance to win. When it come to bonuses, this is quite a bare bones slot. The only extra feature is the game’s Mucho Multiplier. Every win (skull explosion) will increase the Mucho Multiplier by one level with a potential of reaching a 32x bonus. The wild also advances the multiplier. Because the normal in-game payout is so low, the multiplier is your only chance at a grande payout.

Conclusion – A Bare Bones Slot
Esqueleto Explosivo is as fun and colourful as the Mexican culture that it seeks to appropriate. However, it seems like much of Thunderkick’s budget was given to the animation department and was not put towards the development of any unique features. We will not lie, we loved how it looked, and the roll animation is unlike anything we have seen in most video slots. The very talented Boners sing catchy tunes that we were surprised to find ourselves singing long after we stopped playing. However, when it comes to gameplay, the Mucho Multiplier fails to capture our ever-shrinking attention spans. The game’s average 96.0% RTP does little to keep us around, but if you like your slots with none of that unnecessary meat, then this is the game for you.
